New Year’s Brings Goals and Dreams
New Year’s is a time when people reflect on the prior 365 days and think about their goals for the coming year. They make a New Years resolution and have great hopes and dreams. It’s a time to be “Out with the Old and In with the New”.
I too get sucked into the pressure of thinking of what I will pick as a goal for New Years and I dread it because I know it will be a big fail. Since I hate to fail and I feel we can make a choice to create goals and make life changes at any time, I decided I will not do a resolution, instead I’ll be doing a vision board with goals for different times of the year. I won’t be under so much pressure and I can make slow changes and major changes at different times throughout my vision board time line.
My first goal is to have my vision board complete by Jan 15th. This will give me time to have my goals prioritized with realistic time frames to have them completed.
A couple goals are:
Personal
- Quit smoking
- Have an exercise program created and started
- Read an entire book
- New head shots and pictures
Professional
- Complete THIS blog- (button, PR/media page, policies, side bar ads, blog roll)
- Find guest writers for this blog and fashion/beauty writers for Touch’d Bath and Body
- Make one day to get to blogs- to read / comment
There are so many professional goals, I’ll need to break each one down in order to feel like I’m accomplishing each stage.
What are some of your goals? Will you be doing a resolution or a vision board? Do you have a tip for me to stay on track since this is my first time doing a vision board? I would love to hear any comments or advice!
Hope you have a very Happy New Years and I hope your goals and dreams become reality!!

Oh, I can’t wait to see the tips for the vision board. I would love to start one as well for the New Year!
I can’t wait for the tips either since I’m winging this
I’ve done a Dream Board on New Year’s Eve every year I’ve been in business ~ I love how prophetic it is and how by the end of the next year ~ so much of it materializes. I’m only sad being on Oprah won’t have its rightful place there this time =) My video is posted on our home page if anyone needs a jumpstart ~ good luck and Happy New Year!
I’ll be checking out your video so I can get an idea. I’ll still have Oprah on mine- I’d like to have my products mentioned in the O Mag! happy new Year to you too! <3 R
I have so many. Get moving more. Make more money. Get my house organized. Need I go on?
I’m sure I can go on and on too that’s why I need to really break it down so I don’t get overwhelmed and throw my board out the window. Thanks for coming by <3 R
Good for you! I love that you are giving yourself extra time! I think one of the hardest parts about New Year’s Resolutions is the ‘requirement’ to start on January 1st. I always do my ‘revamping’ for my own personal new year – on my birthday – that’s closer to the end of January – so I have some extra time – can’t wait to see your board!
I try to eliminate stress, plus I’d like to take a peek at others so I can get some ideas. Maybe I’ll use your birthday for a deadline for one of my goals too..lol then I’ll celebrate with you! Thanks so much for coming by. Have a Wonderful New Years!! <3 R
I am trying to curb my addiction to, ummm…..colorful language. I am working on it but it is damn hard. See there I go again. I am swearing a lot less than I had been though, lol
haha- It’s soooo hard when you have a potty mouth, it becomes like using “THE” haha-
